Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking an experienced driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations and perform related duties, including safety inspections and documentation. The role supports on-time deliveries between service centers and turn-points, with potential non-driving tasks such as forklift operation and dock work.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL or CLP prior to entering job classification.
• MVR acceptable per hiring standards.
• DOT regulatory requirements must be met.
• Ability to count and perform basic math.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook up/break down trailers requiring lifting.
• Ability to sit for extended periods; follow training and instructions.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and dolly connections.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and reports.
• Follow dispatch instructions and document events.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding.
• Provide internal/external customer service.
• Possibly perform city driver or freight handler duties.
• Handle freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
