Job summary

American Driver LLC in Tulare, CA is seeking CDL drivers for a Western regional program. You’ll train with a mentor and earn $850 weekly during training, followed by a $1,000 weekly guarantee for your first 3 months solo.

The job offers dry van loads across 11 Western states, with mostly drop-and-hook or preloaded freight. Loads may be live, with pay for hand unloads and other tasks. Home every two weeks and paid weekly via direct deposit.

Qualifications

• Completed CDL-A training at a truck driving school (minimum 120 hours)
• Class A CDL from your state of residence
• 21 years or older
• No more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years
• No DUI/DWI in the last 10 years
• Pass DOT physical and drug screen
• New graduates and experienced drivers both welcome

Responsibilities

• Ride with a mentor for 3 to 5 weeks (200–250 hours) behind the wheel
• Earn $850 per week during training
• After solo, receive $1,000 weekly guarantee for the first 3 months
• Dry van freight with mostly drop and hook or preloaded loads
• Some loads are live loads; pay for hand unloads $80, pallet jack/tailgate $20, stops $15
• Expect some winter driving in the mountains and regular home time

Who this is for

You just finished a CDL school program of 120 hours or more. You want real miles, but you don't want to be stuck on the East Coast for a month. This fleet runs the 11 Western states: California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Idaho, Colorado, New Mexico, Montana and Wyoming. If you want to go further east later, you can ask for it.

How training works

You ride with a mentor for 3 to 5 weeks, about 200 to 250 hours behind the wheel. You get paid $850 every week during that time. After that you get your own truck and your own runs. Your first 3 months solo come with a $1,000 weekly guarantee, so a slow week doesn't hurt your paycheck.

Your two weeks on the road

Dry van freight. Most loads are drop and hook or preloaded. Some are live loads. If a load needs a hand unload, you get paid $80 for it. Pallet jack or tailgate assists pay $20. Stops pay $15. Runs usually end within two days, so you're never far from home. Expect some winter driving in the mountains, and the fleet will prepare you for it.
