Job summary

American Driver LLC in Billings seeks CDL-A drivers for OTR routes across all 48 states. New CDL holders train with a paid mentor, then run solo in their own truck.

During training, you’ll be paid weekly, with a guaranteed $1,000/week for the first 3 months solo and about $1,400/week once solo. Expect ~2,000 miles weekly, $15 stop pay, and weekly direct deposit.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL from your state, 21+ years old.
• New CDL grad with 120+ school hours, or 6 months of recent experience.
• No more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years.
• No DUI/DWI in the past 10 years.
• DOT physical and hair/urine drug screen.

What you earn

Your week

OTR lanes in all 48 states. Out about two weeks, then home. Day and night dispatch. Winter driving comes with the territory.

What new drivers ask us

• "How often will I see home?" Every two weeks.
• "Does my CDL school count?" If it was 120 hours or more, yes.
• "I am not good at backing yet." Nobody is on day one. You practice for weeks with a mentor beside you before you drive alone.
• "Do I pay for orientation?" No. Hotel covered, bus ticket reimbursed, and $300 once you are hired.
• "What if my first solo weeks are slow?" You still get at least $1,000 a week for your first 3 months solo.

What happens after you apply

A recruiter calls the same business day and goes over your license and record with you. Orientation takes 2 days at most; the hotel is covered, your bus ticket is reimbursed, and you get $300 for attending once hired. Then you ride 4 to 6 weeks with a mentor who coaches you on backing, logs, fueling and trip planning, and you are paid every week while you learn. When you are ready, you get your own assigned truck, about 1.5 years old on average. For your first 3 months solo, your pay will not drop below $1,000 a week.
