Job summary

NIS EXPRESS in California is seeking entry-level CDL drivers ready to train on the road with a real trainer. You’ll be paid weekly during training and then run the western fleet with a guaranteed first 3 months of solo pay.

Most trips are two days or less, you’ll be home every two weeks, and you can earn weekly gross pay ranging from roughly $1,000 to $1,500 plus mileage and stop pay. Benefits start after 30 days, and orientation travel is covered.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL, 21+ years old
• New drivers: 120+ hours from an accredited CDL school
• Experienced drivers: 6 months OTR in the last 12 months, or 12+ months in the past 5 years
• No more than 2 moving violations in 2 years, no major preventable accidents in 5 years
• Pass hair and urine drug testing and a DOT physical

Job description

Just finished CDL school and every ad wants a year of experience? Not this one. You train on the road with a real trainer, get paid every week while you learn, and then run a western fleet where most trips wrap up in 2 days or less.

Your First Weeks

• 4 to 6 weeks on the road with an experienced driver trainer
• $850 per week training pay
• Your own truck on full pay as soon as your trainer signs off
• $1,000 per week guaranteed for your first 3 months of solo driving

The Runs

• Dry van freight across the 11 western states
• Most runs are no more than 2 days out
• Home every two weeks
• 1,700 to 2,100 miles a week, day or night dispatch
• Want more miles? You can run past the western states

What You Earn

• $1,000 to $1,500 average weekly gross
• Mileage pay that climbs with experience
• Up to 6 cents per mile extra in performance bonus
• $15 stop pay
