Red Hawk Trucking in Texas offers a paid mentor program for new CDL holders. After onboarding and road training with a veteran mentor, you transition to solo driving and earn a weekly wage of about $1,300–$1,400, with training-related stipends and reimbursements.

You’ll drive 2,600–2,800 miles weekly, with routes planned ahead and Friday pay. During the program you’ll receive onboarding, on-road mentoring, and a final evaluation before moving into your own truck.

• At least 21 years old with a valid Class A CDL
• Graduated from a verifiable truck driving school in the last 12 months
• No trucking job between finishing school and applying
• No DUI/DWI in the last 5 years
• Pass a urine drug test and DOT physical

CDL-A Truck Driver - Paid Mentor Training for New CDL Holders (Full Time)
Job Type: Driving

You finished CDL school. Now you need a company that puts you in a truck, trains you on the road and then pays you the same rate as experienced drivers. Once you are solo, drivers running 2,600 to 2,800 miles earn $1,300 to $1,400 a week, paid every Friday.

Your First Weeks

• Onboarding (7 days): meet the team, complete a skills evaluation and get extra training on anything you need to sharpen. Hotel covered plus a $100 food stipend
• On the road with a mentor (10+ days): you drive at least 5 hours a day with an experienced mentor beside you, working through a training checklist. Paid $75 a day
• Female students are paired with female mentors
• Final step: a backing evaluation, pre-trip inspection and road test, then you move into your own truck
• $200 orientation pay, plus travel reimbursement of up to $800 based on distance

Running Solo

• $0.50 per mile when you hit 2,000 safe miles a week, same rate as experienced drivers
• Top drivers qualify for a weekly incentive of 8 to 10 cents per mile
• 100% no touch dry van freight, about 70% drop and hook
• Our own customers, with loads planned 24 to 72 hours ahead
• Out 1 to 2 weeks, Monday through Saturday, with a 34 hour reset every Sunday
• Take your truck home on your time off

Your Truck

• Automatic sleeper trucks, average age around 1.5 years
• APU, double bunk and fridge
• Outward facing cameras only
• Detention $15 an hour after 2 hours, $15 per extra stop
• Breakdown $100, layover $40 after 24 hours
• 6 paid holidays at $100 each
• 401k with company match up to 3%
• Tuition reimbursement for your CDL school balance
• Paid vacation, paid tolls and a yearly pay increase
• Riders welcome once you are solo (family 13 and older)
