Job summary

Red Hawk Trucking is seeking entry-level CDL-A drivers for a mentor-led training program that pairs new drivers with experienced mentors. You will be paid while you learn and transition to your own truck at the full rate after successful training.

Initial pay is around $1,300 to $1,400 per week for 2,600–2,800 miles, with additional benefits during onboarding. On road you will handle dry van loads, mostly drop and hook, with planned loads and a 34-hour restart weekly.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years old and hold a Class A CDL.
• Graduated from an accredited truck driving school in the last 12 months.
• No other trucking job between school and today.
• 4 or fewer moving violations in 3 years and no DUI/DWI in 5 years.
• Pass a DOT physical and urine drug screen.

CDL-A Company Driver - Entry Level - Paid Mentor Training (Full Time)
Job Type: Driving

School taught you to pass the test. Your first company should teach you the job. We pair every new driver with a road mentor, pay you while you learn, and then move you into your own truck at the full rate, around $1,300 to $1,400 a week for 2,600 to 2,800 miles.

Learning the Job

• Your first 7 days are an onboarding class where we check your skills and give extra training if needed


• We cover the hotel and give you $100 for meals during that week


• Next you head out with an experienced mentor for 10+ days, earning $75 a day


• You will log at least 5 hours of seat time per day, following a training checklist


• Female trainees go out with female mentors


• When your mentor signs off, you complete a backing evaluation, pre-trip and road test, and take over your own truck


• Everyone starts at $0.50 per mile with 2,000 safe miles weekly, no matter the experience


• Best performers qualify for 8 to 10 extra cents per mile every week


• 6 paid holidays at $100 each

Out on the Road

• Dry van, no touch freight, mostly drop and hook


• Loads planned 24 to 72 hours ahead from customers we serve directly


• Expect 1 to 2 weeks out, driving Monday through Saturday, with a 34 hour reset each Sunday
