Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a Shuttle Driver in Texas to transport empty trailers to operating locations and deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yards. You will operate tractor/trailer combinations on intrastate and interstate routes, following DOT regulations and safety guidelines.

The role requires a CDL-A with doubles, 21+ years old, and a 3rd shift schedule. Training is provided (Temple, TX) for two weeks, with annual pay between $60,000 and $70,000 plus incentives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 6–12 months of commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL-A with Doubles endorsement.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Available for 3rd shift, Sunday–Thursday nights.
• Pass pre-employment drug test and road test.
• Valid DOT Health Card or eligible to obtain one.
• Able to lift 60–90 pounds and handle equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) and inspections per DOT
• Report safety issues and required repairs
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety policies
• Inspect trailers for proper loading and securing freight
• Maintain route paperwork and dispatch readiness
• Drive and deliver trailers per schedule
• Perform hook/unhook procedures safely
• Park and store tractor trailers in designated areas
• Secure damaged goods and returns for checkout
• Complete daily hours-of-service logs per regulations
• Keep tractors, docks and trailers clean and organized
• Perform other duties as assigned
