Job summary

Performance Foodservice is hiring a Shuttle Driver to move empty trailers between warehouse locations and-to domicile/shuttle yards, operating tractor/trailer equipment on interstate routes during night hours, ensuring safe and timely deliveries in accordance with DOT rules.

You will need a CDL-A with Doubles, 6–12 months driving experience, a clean MVR, and the ability to lift 60–90 lb. Training provided; $5,000 sign-on bonus where eligible.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 6–12 months commercial driving experience
• Valid CDL-A with doubles endorsement
• 21+ years old
• Clean MVR in last 3 years
• Willingness for 3rd shift (Sunday–Thursday)
• Pass pre-employment drug test
• Pass road test
• DOT Health Card current or able to secure
• Able to lift 60–90 lbs and handle heavy freight

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks on tractor/trailer per DOT regulations.
• Report safety issues and required repairs.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines.
• Inspect trailer for properly loaded freight.
• Ensure route paperwork is available at dispatch.
• Drive and deliver trailers per route schedule.
• Perform hook/unhook procedures.
• Park and store tractor trailers.
• Ensure equipment and freight are secured.
• Handle damaged goods and returns and complete paperwork.
• Unload equipment and remove trash.
• Complete daily hours-of-service logs.
• Maintain housekeeping in tractor/loading dock area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
