Job summary

Performance Food Group is seeking a Shuttle Driver in New Jersey to transport empty trailers to warehouse locations and deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yards. You will operate tandem, tractor, and/or straight trucks along intrastate and interstate routes, ensuring safety and timely deliveries in compliance with DOT regulations.

Responsibilities include safety checks, proper loading, paperwork accuracy, and professional interaction with customers and coworkers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience.
• 12+ months of commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Work required 3rd shift schedule, Sunday-Thursday nights (schedules may vary).
• Pass pre-employment drug test
• Pass road test.
• Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card.
• Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight.

Responsibilities

• Performs safety checks (pre/post trip) and inspects tractor/truck and trailer per DOT regulations.
• Reports safety issues and repairs.
• Follows DOT regulations and company safety guidelines; reports hazards.
• Inspects trailer for proper loading and securing of freight.
• Ensures route paperwork is ready at dispatch.
• Drives and delivers trailers according to schedule.
• Performs hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
• Parks and stores tractor trailers in designated areas.
• Secures equipment and freight.
• Handles damaged goods and returns in trailer and completes required paperwork.
• Unloads equipment and keeps areas clean.
• Maintains daily hours-of-service log as required by DOT and company.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
