Job summary

Performance Food Group is looking for a Shuttle Driver in New Jersey to move empty trailers to warehouse locations and deliver full trailers to domicile yards, complying with safety and DOT rules.

You will perform pre/post-trip checks, secure loads, log hours, and communicate with customers and team members. CDL A with a Doubles Endorsement is required, plus the ability to lift 60–90 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 12+ months of commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Work required 3rd shift schedule, Sunday -Thursday nights (schedules may vary).
• Pass pre-employment drug test and road test.
• Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card.
• Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight.

Responsibilities

• Performs all required safety checks (pre/post trip) according to DOT regulations.
• Reports safety issues and repairs.
• Follows DOT regulations and company safety guidelines.
• Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
• Ensures all route paperwork is with tractor trailer load.
• Drives and delivers trailers according to schedule.
• Performs hook/unhook procedures safely.
• Parks and stores tractors and trailers.
• Ensures equipment and freight are secured.
• Handles damaged goods and returns paperwork.
• Unloads equipment and keeps trailers clean.
• Records hours of service daily.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
