FedEx Freight in Fremont, Indiana is seeking a professional CDL driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers. This role involves pre-trip inspections, securing loads, documentation, and customer communication to generate additional business.

A strong safety record and ability to work independently or in a team are essential. Starting pay is $32.20 per hour with full-time hours and benefits.

Formación

• Must possess a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements (Automatic transmission restriction allowed).
• Must possess one (1) year experience within most recent three (3) years or successful completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must possess acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards.
• Must meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory requirements under 391 FMC regulations.
• LCV experience required in specified states.
• Ability to count and perform basic math.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 100 pounds several times a week.
• Ability to sit for extended periods, bend, twist, squat, climb in/out of truck.
• Ability to follow instructions and training.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.

Responsabilidades

• Operate tractor-trailer as required, including doubles/triples.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and dollies as needed.
• Handle freight with motorized/manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Secure freight using pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations.
• Collect payments for freight charges when required.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or issues.
• Communicate with customers to determine pick-up/delivery needs and solicit leads.
• Demonstrate internal and external customer service.
• Request additional business from customers for sales leads.
• May perform chaining or duties of road driver/dock employee when necessary.
• Comply with laws and company policies.
