Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a professional CDL driver to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-point locations. The role requires a Class A CDL with hazmat/tank endorsements, a clean MVR, and DOT compliance. Expect long distances, safety inspections, and strict documentation.

Compensation includes mileage pay and an hourly rate, with comprehensive benefits. The position offers opportunities for overtime and weekend work, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazardous materials and tank endorsements; automatic transmission ok.
• Must have 1 year experience within the most recent 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR Part 391.
• LCV requirements apply in specified states (AZ, CO, FL, ID, IN, KS, MT, ND, NV, OH, OK, OR, SD, UT).
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook/unhook trailers and lift ~100 pounds, several times daily.
• Ability to sit, bend, twist, squat, climb in/out of truck.
• Ability to work independently or in a team; show initiative.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles (triples where applicable).
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or problems.
• May chain vehicle tires as needed.
• May perform duties of city driver or dock employee when necessary.
• Load and unload freight as required.
• Comply with all laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
