Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a driver to pick up and deliver freight between Service Centers and customers and to support the selling process.

Starting pay is $31.32 per hour. The role requires a Class A CDL with double/triple and hazmat endorsements, DOT regulatory knowledge, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds. You will perform inspections, secure freight, and maintain compliance while providing excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• One year of driving experience in the last three years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) per hiring standards.
• Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements under 391 FMC regulations.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 100 pounds several times per week.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer or straight truck and handle trailers.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps and rope.
• Communicate with customers and dispatch about pick-ups, deliveries and delays.
• Demonstrate internal and external customer service.
• Follow dispatch instructions and comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
