Job summary

FedEx Freight in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a professional CDL-A driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers, supporting the selling process. The starting pay is $32.20 per hour.

You will operate tractor-trailer combos, perform pre-trip inspections, secure freight, and maintain accurate documentation. Candidates must have a Class A CDL with hazmat/tank endorsements, one year of recent experience or completion of the FedEx Driver Development Course, and a clean MVR.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with double/triple, hazardous materials and tank endorsements.
• Must possess one year experience within the most recent three years or successful completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must possess acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR.
• Long combination vehicles (LCV) qualification for listed states and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles/triples where applicable, and/or straight trucks.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Handle freight using motorized/manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed and complete required documentation.
