McLane Company, Inc. is hiring a Trainee Component Driver in Missouri. The role teaches essential functions of the Driver position, including distributing products to customer locations while gaining exposure to warehouse operations as you progress toward becoming a McLane Driver.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Possess a Class A CDL.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Able to perform calculations to verify quantities of product.
• Ability to communicate with customers and teammates.
• Safely drive a tractor-trailer, use a 2-wheeled dolly, ramp, and onboard PeopleNet devices.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations and policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer equipment and submit DOT inspection report.
• Operate Driver Delivery Handheld (DDH) and document receipts/temperatures.
• Ride with Driver Trainer to destinations and learn driving regulations and skills.
• Maintain driver logs according to DOT regulations.
• Assist the Driver in unloading trailer and delivering product.
• Provide customer service including on-time delivery and customer credits.
