Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. seeks a Driver Trainee to learn essential functions of the Driver role, including distribution of products to customer locations.

Trainees gain exposure to warehouse and other operations as part of the developmental process toward becoming a McLane Driver. In this role, you will train on safe driving practices, complete CDL requirements within 6 months, and progress toward $65,000–$85,000 annual earnings after training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Complete training and receive Class A CDL in 6 months or less.
• Ability and willingness to select/load/unload and/or deliver all products.
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Communicate with customers, management, and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and handle lines to secure.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with all regulations and policies.
• Inspect tractor‑trailer equipment for defects pre/post trip and report conditions.
• Use DDH to document deliveries and verify temperatures and exceptions.
• Ride with Driver Trainer to learn regulations and driving maneuvers.
• Maintain driver logs per DOT regulations and submit delivery receipts.
