McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Driver, Trainee Component to begin a developmental path toward becoming a fully qualified McLane Driver. The role teaches essential functions like accurate product distribution to customer locations and exposure to warehouse operations.

You will train with a Driver Trainer, learn regulatory requirements, and gain hands-on experience in delivery, routing, and safety procedures while supporting customer satisfaction from day one.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Possess a Class A CDL.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Meet eligibility requirements per McLane policy.
• Ability to load/unload and deliver all products as ordered by customers.
• Read and comprehend labels and bills of lading.
• Perform calculations to verify quantities.
• Communicate with customers and teammates.
• Safely drive a tractor-trailer and use related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations and policies.
• Inspect equipment and submit DOT inspection reports.
• Use Driver Delivery Handheld to document deliveries and temps; ensure secure transport.
• Ride with Driver Trainer to learn driving regulations and skills.
• Maintain driver logs according to DOT rules.
• Assist in unloading and delivering products.
• Provide on-time delivery and customer credits as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
