Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. seeks a Trainee Component Driver in Missouri to learn essential functions of the Driver role, including the accurate and timely distribution of products to customer locations.

You will gain exposure to warehouse and other operational functions as part of developing into a McLane Driver. This full-time role offers Day 1 benefits, competitive pay, and opportunities to advance within a nationwide distribution network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Possess a Class A CDL.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Perform mathematical calculations to verify quantities of product.
• Communicate with customers, management, and other teammates.
• Safely drive a tractor-trailer, use a 2-wheeled dolly, ramp, and on board PeopleNet devices.
• Read, write, and understand English to perform job tasks safely.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in accordance with regulations and policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer equipment for defects and submit DOT reports.
• Use Driver Delivery Handheld (DDH) to document receipts and temps.
• Ride with Driver Trainer to learn regulations and driving techniques.
• Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations.
• Assist in unloading and delivering products to customer premises.
• Provide customer service including on-time delivery and handling credits.
