Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Driver Trainee to learn the essential functions of the Driver role, including accurate and timely distribution of products to customer locations. Trainees gain exposure to warehouse and other operations as part of becoming a McLane Driver.

Pay starts at $21.00 per hour during training. After training, drivers earn $90,000 to $95,000 annually. Day 1 benefits include medical, dental, vision, FSA/HSA, and company-paid life insurance, plus holidays, vacation, and

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Complete Driver Trainee training and obtain Class A CDL within 6 months.
• Able to load/unload products and operate with safety protocols.
• Must read/understand labels, bills of lading, and delivery documents.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with laws and company policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects and file DOT inspections.
• Document deliveries and product temps using Driver Delivery Handheld.
• Learn regulatory requirements and driving techniques during training with trainer.
• Maintain driver logs per DOT regulations.
• Assist in unloading and delivering products to customer locations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
