McLane Company, Inc. seeks a CDL-A Trainee Component Driver to learn essential functions and gain exposure to warehouse and delivery operations. You will train under a Driver Trainer and gradually assume responsibilities in transporting products to customer locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Possess a Class A CDL.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Perform mathematical calculations to verify quantities of product.
• Safely drive a tractor-trailer, use a 2-wheeled dolly, ramp, and onboard PeopleNet devices.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and handle lines to secure.
• Operates truck in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer equipment for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report.
• Operates Driver Delivery Handheld (DDH) and documents delivery receipts and temperatures.
• Rides and trains with Driver Trainer to destinations, learning regulations and driving skills.
• Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations.
• Assist the Driver in unloading trailer and delivering product.
• Provide customer service with on-time delivery and handling returns.
