Job summary

FedEx Freight in the United States is seeking CDL-licensed drivers to operate tractor-trailers, including doubles, between service centers and turn-points. The role includes safety inspections, log maintenance, and dispatch communication.

Applicants must hold a class A CDL with hazmat and tank endorsements, a valid MVR meeting standards, and meet DOT 391 FMC requirements. Training and development may be provided.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements. Automatic transmission restriction allowed.
• Must have 1 year of experience in the last 3 years or complete FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT 391 FMC regulations.
• Experience with long combination vehicles in listed states.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook up and break down sets of trailers with ~100 lb lift.
• Ability to sit for extended periods and move in/out of truck.
• Ability to follow instructions and training.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team.
• Demonstrates initiative and motivation.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles (and triples where applicable).
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate with dispatch as required.
• May chain vehicle tires.
• May perform duties of a city driver or dock employee as needed.
• Load and unload freight as required.
• Comply with all laws, regs, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
