Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a CDL A tractor-trailer driver to pick up and deliver trailers between Service Centers and turn-point locations using tractor-trailer combinations. The job requires hazmat/tank endorsements, the ability to operate long combination vehicles in designated states, and strong DOT compliance.

You will perform daily pre-trip inspections, complete documentation, load/unload as needed, and coordinate with dispatch; overnight stays may be required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements; automatic transmission allowed.
• 1 year experience within the last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have acceptable MVR and meet DOT FMC regulations under section 391.
• LCV qualifications apply for listed states; meet minimum standards for long combination vehicles.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift about 100 pounds to hook/unhook trailers.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations to pickup and deliver between Service Centers and turn-point locations.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports; maintain logs.
• Communicate with dispatch about delays, arrivals, or problems.
• Load and unload freight as required; comply with laws and policies.
