FedEx Freight, Inc in Colorado is seeking a driver to operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles, with dock and forklift duties as needed. Starting pay aligns with hourly rate and CDL requirements.

You will perform inspections, secure freight, handle paperwork, coordinate with dispatch, assist customers, and comply with DOT regulations. This role demands physical ability and safety focus; driving day and night on varied routes.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL or a commercial learning permit (CLP) prior to entering job classification.
• Must possess acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards.
• Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements under 391 FMC regulations.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook up and break down sets of trailers that require an average lift force of ~100 pounds, several times a day.
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight weighing up to 100 pounds, several times a week.

Responsabilités

• Operate tractor-trailer combination, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment like forklift and pallet jack.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch regarding delays, arrivals, or equipment problems.
• Demonstrate internal and external customer service.
• Communicate with customers to determine pick-up or delivery needs.
• Request additional business and provide leads to sales for new opportunities.
• Where necessary, perform road driver or freight handler duties.
• Chain vehicle tires as required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
