Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc is seeking a driver/dock associate to operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles or straight trucks. Through education and driving skills development, you will perform pre-trip inspections and handle freight safely at the Mead, CO location.

This role requires a Class A CDL or CLP, ability to lift up to 100 pounds, and the flexibility to drive day and night in all weather. Starting pay is $26.23 per hour with a range up to $31.23, plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL or CLP required.
• MVR acceptable per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements.
• Ability to count and perform basic math.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook up and break down trailers.
• Lift up to 100 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Drive day and night in all weather; follow instructions and training.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, rope.
• Communicate with Dispatch regarding delays, arrivals, or issues.
• Provide internal/external customer service and determine pickup/delivery needs.
• Assist with road driver or freight handler duties if needed.
• Follow DOT regulations and company policies.
