Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a capable CDL driver to operate tractor-trailers, including doubles and straight trucks. The role includes pre/post-trip inspections, hitching trailers, and freight handling with forklifts and pallet jacks.

You will ensure safe, compliant operations across daily duties and communicate effectively with Dispatch. Responsibilities include securing freight, maintaining paperwork, and coordinating with customers on pickup/delivery needs, while complying with hazmat and DOT

Qualifications

• Must possess CDL Class A or CLP prior to entering job classification.
• Must meet MVR-based hiring standards and DOT regulatory requirements.
• Basic math and writing/reading communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections and ensure safety compliance.
• Hook/unhook trailers and handle freight using forklift, pallet jack, or hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope; recoup damaged freight when needed.
• Maintain required documentation and reports; manage freight charges and related records.
