Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is hiring a Coronary Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) for Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. The role offers a guaranteed Night shift with a 36-hour week and a strong emphasis on teamwork, patient safety, and professional growth.

The RN will provide high-quality, evidence-based care in a fast-paced CICU environment, perform patient assessments, administer meds, document in EPIC, and collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure smooth transitions of care.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification; ACLS within 120 days of hire; CCRN preferred.
• AS or ADN in nursing is required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1–2 years' experience in Critical Care/NICU/ED is highly preferred.
• Must be comfortable with EMR systems (EPIC).

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, patients and families.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications and hands-on care.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers to coordinate care.
• Educate patients and families for the next phase of care.
• Document accurately in the EMR to promote continuity and safety.
• Contribute during interdisciplinary rounds to improve transitions of care.
• Be part of a collaborative team environment with shared accountability.
• Pursue continuing education and clinical ladder opportunities.
