RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Cardio Thoracic ICU Registered Nurse (RN) for per diem day shifts at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ. The role supports a dynamic CTICU team with patient-centered care and ongoing professional development.

The RN will assess, treat, and educate patients in a fast-paced ICU setting, using EPIC EMR, with an emphasis on safety, accuracy, and teamwork across disciplines. Competitive hourly pay and a strong benefits culture accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing
• BLS certification current (American Heart Association)
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Minimum 1 year hospital experience preferred
• Proficient with EMR systems (EPIC)

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, patients and families
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes
• Administer medications and provide hands-on care with strong clinical judgment
• Partner with physicians and providers to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families clearly and compassionately
• Document accurately in the EMR to ensure continuity of care
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and drive smooth transitions
• Collaborate in a high-performing team with shared accountability
• Pursue ongoing professional growth through education and ladders
