Job summary

Tandem Hospitality Group is seeking a Catering Sales Manager to drive catering sales, prospect new clients, and coordinate all details for successful events at our hotel. You will liaise with planners, negotiate contracts, and oversee event execution from proposal to close.

The role requires strong sales, communication, and organizational skills, with flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to maximize hotel revenue.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• Proven selling, negotiating and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of intermediate sales techniques.

Responsibilities

• Solicitation, prospecting, and direct selling in local, Corporate and Social Catering market.
• Discuss event details with planner and communicate to hotel departments via catering/banquet event orders
• Prepare proposals, contracts, and other client-requested documents.
• Event planning and detailing for booked events
• On-site contact for group and standalone events
• Plan and communicate on-site events including internal meetings
• Conduct property tours and communicate new service offerings to establish new relationships
• Maximize Catering and Banquet revenues and minimize erosion of check averages
• Communicate function arrangements to departments via meetings and emails
• Negotiate and close contracts for catered functions
• Create profitable menus and align client expectations with Food & Beverage
• Network at onsite and offsite events including charity/community events
• Double-check all function arrangements against client specifications
• Ensure repeat bookings through effective follow-up
• Increase client prospects through active prospecting
• Upsell revenues for the hotel
• Demonstrate self-starter, goal-oriented, detail-oriented communication
• Other duties as assigned by Director of Sales
