Job summary

Chartwells Higher Ed is seeking a Catering and Retail Manager to lead the Catering Department, train staff, oversee event set-ups, and ensure top-tier service. You will manage events from planning to breakdown, coordinate with the Chef on menus, and monitor labor and food costs to optimize profitability.

The position typically follows a Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm schedule, offering comprehensive benefits and a path to growth within Compass Group USA.

Qualifications

• 2 years of food service catering experience including 1 year at the management level.
• Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
• Catering experience is required.
• Knowledge of food trends with focus on quality, production, sanitation, and costs.
• Financial, budgetary, accounting and computational skills.
• Proficient MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• ServSafe Certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervises all catering events.
• Oversees logistics, sanitation, and facility-related activities.
• Works with Chef to create menus.
• Trains catering associates in service techniques and customer service.
• Monitors labor and food costs for each event.
• Maintains client relationships at multiple levels.
• Manages foodservice-related activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
