Job summary

Gourmet Dining & Chartwells Higher Education, part of Compass Group USA, is seeking a Catering Manager to lead the Catering Department, train associates, oversee event setup, and direct temporary staff while ensuring flawless service at client events. You will work with the Chef on menu development, monitor labor and food costs, and maintain excellent client relationships.

Catering experience is required and a hands-on leadership approach is essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years of food service experience including 1 year in management.
• Experience across restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, or healthcare.
• Catering experience is required.
• Knowledge of food trends, quality, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
• Financial, budgeting and accounting skills.
• Proficient in MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• ServSafe Certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervises all catering events.
• Involved in catering events operations, including logistics, quality improvement, sanitation, and all facility-related activities.
• Works with the Chef in creating menus.
• Trains catering associates in service techniques, menu presentation, and customer service.
• Tracks and monitors the labor and food cost for each event.
• Communicates on various levels to include management, client, customer and associate levels; maintains excellent client relationships.
• Assists in the responsibility for all foodservice-related activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
