Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a Catering and Retail Manager in Downers Grove, IL to lead the catering department, oversee event setups, and supervise staff. The role involves coordinating with the Chef on menus, training associates, and managing labor and food costs to ensure high-quality client service.

The position typically operates Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with full benefits and PTO.

Qualifications

• 2 years of food service catering experience including 1 year at the management level.
• Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
• Proficient with MS Office and ServSafe Certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervises all catering events.
• Oversees logistics, quality improvement, sanitation, and related activities.
• Works with the Chef in creating menus.
• Trains catering associates in service techniques and customer service.
• Tracks and monitors labor and food cost for each event.
• Maintains excellent client relationships at multiple levels.
