Job summary

Gourmet Dining & Chartwells Higher Education in New Jersey is seeking a Catering Manager to oversee the Catering Department, train new associates, manage event set-ups, and supervise temporary staff while ensuring top-level service at client events.

You will work with the Chef on menu creation, monitor labor/food costs, and maintain strong client relationships to support growth across campuses. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring catering expertise.

Qualifications

• 2 years of food service experience including 1 year at the management level.
• Experience in catering operations and various food service settings.
• Proficiency in budgeting, cost control, sanitation and presentation.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; ServSafe certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervises all catering events and oversees operations.
• Manages event logistics, sanitation and cost controls.
• collaborates with Chef on menus and presentation.
• Trains catering associates in service techniques and customer service.
• Tracks labor and food costs for each event.
• Maintains client relationships and coordinates with management.
