Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a Catering and Retail Manager to lead the Catering Department, train new associates, oversee event setups, and direct temporary staff. You’ll ensure excellent service during events, including setup, cleaning, and breakdown procedures.

The role typically follows a Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm schedule, with responsibilities spanning menu collaboration, cost controls, and client relations to uphold quality standards across events.

Qualifications

• 2 years of catering experience including 1 year in management
• Knowledge of catering trends, quality, sanitation and food cost controls
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet
• ServSafe Certification required

Responsibilities

• Supervises all catering events
• Oversees event logistics, sanitation and facility operations
• Collaborates with Chef on menu creation
• Trains associates in service techniques and presentation
• Monitors labor and food costs per event
• Maintains client relationships and communication with managers and clients
• Performs additional duties as assigned
