Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a National Catastrophe Property Field Claims Specialist to support Personal Lines in field environments. You will conduct on-site inspections, assess damage, and manage complex claims end-to-end, often under tight deadlines while traveling to catastrophe zones.

You will collaborate with Special Investigations and Subrogation teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver clear communication to policyholders.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
• Three to five years of related property claims experience.
• Xactimate proficiency and certifications.
• Licensed where required; CAT experience.
• Strong communication and customer service under pressure.
• Ability to climb ladders for roof inspections.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site property inspections and damage assessments in catastrophe zones.
• Investigate and resolve moderate to complex property claims from start to finish.
• Determine policy coverage and prepare estimates using Xactimate.
• Own the full lifecycle of claims, including reserving, supplements, and documentation.
• Partner with internal teams (e.g., Special Investigations, Subrogation) as needed.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and internal standards while ensuring timely resolutions.
• Provide proactive, consistent updates to customers throughout the claims process.
