Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Field Claims Specialist to support NATCAT operations nationwide, traveling to catastrophe sites to assess damage, determine coverage, and guide policyholders through the claims process with care. You will handle complex cases, maintain documentation, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely resolutions.

The role requires on-site inspections, strong communication, and the ability to manage high-stress situations while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
• Three to five years of related property claims experience or equivalent.
• State licensing where required; Xactimate certification courses expected within a year/two years.

Responsibilities

• Handle on-site property inspections and damage assessments in catastrophe zones.
• Investigate and resolve moderate to complex property claims from start to finish.
• Determine policy coverage and prepare estimates using Xactimate.
• Own the full lifecycle of claims including reserves, supplements and documentation.
• Collaborate with SIU and Subrogation to identify fraud and subrogation opportunities.
