Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Field Claims Specialist to support the National Catastrophe program. You will travel nationwide (up to 80%) to assess property damage, determine coverage, and guide policyholders through the claims process with empathy and professionalism.

The role requires on-site field work in catastrophe zones, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle high-stress situations with independence and resilience.

Qualifications

• Prior insurance field/property claims handling or adjusting experience.
• Proficiency with Xactimate and prior estimate writing experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage claims of varying complexity from start to finish.
• Experience working on-site in catastrophe (CAT) environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site property inspections and damage assessments in catastrophe zones.
• Investigate and resolve moderate to complex property claims from start to finish.
• Determine policy coverage and prepare estimates using Xactimate.
