Job summary

Nationwide is seeking experienced property claims professionals to join its National Catastrophe (NATCAT) Field Claims team. You will travel to catastrophe zones to assess damage, evaluate coverage, and guide policyholders through the claims process with empathy and professionalism.

You will handle on-site inspections, manage claims from start to finish, and maintain accurate documentation while meeting regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of related property claims experience or comparable job-related experience.
• Experience in a customer service environment, including flexible work schedules and extended work hours preferred.
• Successful completion of required claims certification schools or classes; Xactimate Level 1 within 1 year and Level 2 within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site property inspections and damage assessments in catastrophe zones.
• Investigate and resolve moderate to complex property claims from start to finish.
• Determine policy coverage and prepare estimates using Xactimate and related tools.
• Own the full lifecycle of claims, including reserving, supplements, and documentation.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and internal standards while ensuring timely resolutions.
• Provide proactive, consistent updates to customers throughout the claims process.
