Job summary

Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. is seeking an experienced UA Manager to join our Casualty Wholesale team. The role is based in Atlanta, GA; Scottsdale, AZ; Rocky Hill, CT; or NYC with hybrid work and in-office presence three days per week.

You will lead 7–10 direct reports, drive underwriting performance, and develop staff. Some travel to offices where UA Associates sit is required. Salary range shown: $75,800–$124,100 with 10% bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years in Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree and 4+ years in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6+ years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area
• Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment

Responsibilities

• Ensure teams meet key operational performance goals.
• Assess and evaluate underwriting processes to implement technical standards, controls, practices and procedures.
• Follow up with producers to discuss status of new business, renewals, and renewals in process.
• Perform customer service and account management tasks, including billing issues and policy changes.
• Participate in key account business relationships in person or via teleconference.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and staff development plans.
• Make staffing decisions and motivate staff to provide client service.
• Build operations and underwriting skills through cross-training across multiple workflows.
• Lead underwriting team huddles and meetings; build strong cross-business relationships.
• Assist in onboarding and training new Underwriting Assistants and Underwriters.
• Act as SME for initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and performance.
