Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Whitehall Township, MI, seeks an off-shift supervisor to lead Plant 10 – Whitehall Casting, directing and motivating the manufacturing workforce to produce high-quality parts safely and efficiently, and ensure scheduling meets business and customer needs.

This role emphasizes safety, training, budget and cost control, 6S leadership, EHS compliance, and collaboration across management, engineering and quality control to optimize operations.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 3 years leadership experience.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsabilidades

• Direct and motivate the manufacturing work force to produce products of high quality in the most efficient and safe manner and ensure that scheduling meets business and customer needs.
• Supervises an effective team; includes planning and holding meetings, preparing and conducting performance appraisals, managing staffing levels, assisting with career development, approving time and attendance, and prioritizing work assignments.
• Provides effective feedback to employees, maintains documentation for disciplinary actions.
• Provides training and mentoring to new Supervisors.
• Directs training and orientation to ensure EHS rules are known and understood; improves work performance and acquaints employees with policies and procedures.
• Maintains compliance with the collective bargaining agreement; interfaces between management and union officials; handles grievances.
• Schedules production and work teams.
• Reviews production and operating reports and resolves issues to minimize costs and prevent delays.
• Promotes EHS and continuous improvement initiatives and culture; leads 6S program.
• Interacts with employees and other departments to manage product flow.
• Maintains inventories, as applicable.
• Enforces company policies and serves as information resource.
• Responds to emergencies; troubleshoots production problems; investigates and analyzes; initiates actions to correct deviations affecting schedules, costs, quality.
• Prepares and analyzes production documentation (e.g., reports, log sheets).
• Reviews work procedures for safety regulations and concerns.
• Plans, develops, and implements new methods to improve operations and reduce costs.
• Confers with management, engineering, and quality control to resolve maintenance problems and improve operations.
• Performs audits for safety compliance; facilitates 6S audit program.
• Assists with budget and goal setting; ensures adherence to EHS rules.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
