Job summary

Rescue Mission Alliance of Syracuse, NY is seeking a Full-Time Case Manager in Auburn, NY to support homeless and housing-vulnerable families and women. The role involves managing a caseload, coordinating services, and helping clients obtain and maintain permanent housing.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule (9:00am–5:30pm) with a $20.00 per hour rate. Trauma-informed care, compassionate communication, and strong organizational skills are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Master's degree in Social Work or related field preferred.
• Experience with vulnerable populations, including homelessness.
• Valid NYS Driver License (must meet company driving criteria).
• Familiarity with local community services is a plus.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry a caseload and maintain accurate, timely documentation for each client’s progress and service needs.
• Build rapport, encourage, and motivate clients while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Collaborate with clients to identify strengths, set attainable goals, and monitor progress toward independence.
• Refer clients to internal and external providers, including mental health, addiction, legal, and financial services.
• Build relationships with housing authorities, service agencies, and local organizations to expand resource access.
• Assist with preparing vacant units, basic cleaning, and removing abandoned items.
• Provide transportation for clients to key appointments as needed.
• Participate in regular meetings and coordinate care plans with fellow staff members.
• Promote a safety-first environment and adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
