Job summary

STG Logistics in Illinois is seeking a Carrier Sales Representative to source capacity, match the best trucks to loads, and provide excellent service to clients. You will negotiate rates, track drivers, and manage necessary documentation to keep shipments moving smoothly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience.
• 1 year of experience in related logistics or transportation.
• Ability to communicate with credibility and build customer relationships.
• Moderate Excel skills and the ability to learn required software.

Responsibilities

• Manage transportation events and enhance carrier utilization to ensure on-time deliveries and customer satisfaction.
• Manages inbound and outbound documentation for drivers/loads for accuracy.
• Proactively confirm all future orders have all necessary documents and pickup/delivery information in the system.
• Work directly with customers on forward-looking order commitments, to advise when appointments should be made.
• Analyze and assess your carrier portfolio to identify strengths and weaknesses of provider coverage.
• Always think about how to do things better, faster, more efficiently and at a fair cost.
• Responsible for solving the issues and escalating those issues up when needed.
• Research new carriers in the marketplace, generated leads and qualified new carrier relationships.
• Calling carriers daily to determine carrier availability and negotiate the best rates possible.
• Responsible for pending carrier claims.
• Minimize accessorial, addressing them in a timely fashion to increase pod(s) profitability.
• Ensure every load possible is on Macropoint/GPS tracking.
