CS Recruiting represents a Dallas-based client seeking a Carrier Development Representative to expand and manage a network of asset-based carriers including flatbed, step deck, and specialized equipment.

Based on-site in Dallas, you will build long-term relationships with carrier partners, negotiate rates, and collaborate with operations and sales to align capacity with demand. The role requires 3+ years in freight brokerage and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

3+ years experience in freight brokerage and carrier development with open deck trailers.
Excellent communicator and negotiator with strong interpersonal skills.
Growth mindset: eager to learn, open to feedback, and continuously improving industry knowledge.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain a high-quality network of asset-based flatbed, step deck, and specialized carriers.
Develop strong, long-term relationships with carrier partners to secure capacity.
Negotiate competitive rates while balancing service, reliability, and margin goals.
Monitor carrier performance, safety ratings, insurance compliance, and service quality.
Collaborate with operations and sales teams to match carrier capacity with customer demand.
Identify market trends, capacity shifts, and pricing opportunities.
