Job summary

Redwood Logistics LLC in Chicago, IL is seeking a Carrier Development Representative to source and grow our carrier network within the freight brokerage space. You will identify providers, build strong relationships and drive profitability through effective rate negotiation.

You’ll engage carriers by phone, monitor shipments, resolve issues, and contribute to top-tier customer service while expanding our network across North America.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, networking, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Results-driven and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible, able to shift focus to market conditions and company needs.
• Sales, foodservice industry, or related experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify, source and develop strong relationships with service providers.
• Expand carrier profiles and align Redwood truckload sales opportunities.
• Engage carrier partners by phone, 80+ dials per day when possible.
• Negotiate freight rates to maximize profitability and monitor shipments.
• Coordinate freight with carrier equipment and post internal postings.
• Provide service and support to motor carriers to grow the network.
• Resolve issues promptly to maintain Redwood’s standard of excellence.
• Research and develop new carrier relationships to add capacity.
