Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Capacity Coordinator II to coordinate a mid-sized carrier group and IC drivers, ensuring safe and timely freight movement. The role requires flexibility across days, nights, and weekends to meet demand.

You will build relationships with carriers, optimize operations, and manage reporting, payroll, and settlements while supporting profitability and service excellence in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 2-3 years in transportation/logistics or equivalent military experience; ability to work across shifts including nights/weekends.
• Strong communication skills; proven ability to build relationships and deliver commitments.
• Experience fostering customer relationships through delivery of service and feedback.
• Ability to process information with high accuracy and make productive decisions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and travel to customer locations.
• Willingness to adapt to a dynamic, high-pressure environment; accountable for results.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate a mid-sized group of carriers/IC drivers and optimize routing for on-time service.
• Build positive relationships with carriers, ensure new carrier setup, and minimize turnover.
• Create and present customer-specific reporting and financial analysis.
• Balance equipment in the market; manage inventory and yard duties with maintenance coordination.
• Handle payroll, billing, settlements, and P&L related tasks as needed.
• Resolve service issues across routing, scheduling, and accessorial pay; communicate with stakeholders.
• Support training for entry-level staff and participate in special projects to improve profitability.
