Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a part-time bus driver to provide safe transportation for students and volunteers to and from the LifeWise site. The role requires a mature Christian faith, clean driving record, and willingness to undergo background checks and annual medical statements.

Responsibilities include transporting passengers, maintaining bus safety and cleanliness, performing inspections, and assisting students with entering and exiting the vehicle while upholding a calm, caring demeanor.

Qualifications

• A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active participation in a local church whose doctrine aligns with LifeWise beliefs.
• Regular driver's license and continuous licensure for the past 3 years.
• CDL with passenger endorsement for vehicles seating over 15 passengers or no special license for 15-passenger vans.
• Age 21–80; additional docs for drivers over 75.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or citations in 5 years.
• Pass background check and annual physician's statement for medical conditions.
• Drug/alcohol testing as required (pre-employment, annual, post-accidents).

Responsibilities

• Transport children and volunteers to and from LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Maintain cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus.
• Perform regular bus inspections and refuel as needed.
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children; enforce safety rules.
• Assist students in boarding and alighting, stay calm and caring.
• Volunteer in LifeWise classroom if approved by Director.
