Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a part-time bus driver to transport students and volunteers to and from the LifeWise site. You will prioritize safety, follow traffic laws, and maintain clean, well-maintained buses.

The ideal candidate will have a mature Christian faith in agreement with LifeWise's Statement of Faith, a valid driver's license (CDL with passenger endorsement if required), and a clean driving record. Regular inspections and classroom volunteering possible.

Qualifications

• Mature personal Christian faith in agreement with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active participation in a local church whose doctrine aligns with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Regular driver’s license; CDL with endorsement for driving a passenger vehicle (P) if required.
• Age 21–80; additional documentation for drivers over 75 (physician statement or CDL endorsement as applicable).
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or citations in last five years.
• Undergo background check and annual physician’s statement for medical conditions.
• Drug/alcohol testing as required (pre-employment and random).

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Maintain cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus.
• Perform regular inspections of the bus.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed.
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children.
• Enforce safety rules for students.
• Assist students entering or exiting the vehicle.
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor.
• Be aware of students needing help or misbehaving.
• Volunteer in the LifeWise classroom if agreed upon with the Director.
