Job summary

Goodwill Houston is seeking a Career Navigator (SCV) to enroll and support up to 500 participants annually across Workforce Development programs in Regions 1 and 4. The role focuses on case management, financial literacy, and career skills training to help participants secure and retain employment.

Key duties include guiding participants through labor market trends, coordinating with Houston Academy for Career Development, and providing job readiness coaching.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years in workforce development or human services.
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with individuals experiencing homelessness is preferred.
• Ability to communicate with diverse personalities.
• Ability to analyze opportunities and problems and develop practical solutions.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Enroll and provide services to 500 participants annually.
• Perform intensive employment case management and career planning.
• Maintain a rolling caseload per program requirements.
• Ensure ALICE financial guidelines are met and SOPs followed.
• Guide participants on labor market trends and career pathways.
• Input progress notes and retention data into CaseWorthy.
• Coordinate referrals to support services and training programs.
• Assist with resume preparation, interviewing, and workplace etiquette.
