Job summary

Houston Community College is seeking a Pathways and Case Management Advisor to partner with students, faculty, staff, Instructional Services, administrators, and the community in a proactive process which facilitates the development of intentional educational and career plans to help students achieve academic, personal, and professional goals.

You will inform prospective, new, and returning students of educational opportunities and requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.
Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
2 years related work experience in post-secondary institution required.
Experience advising traditional-aged students and adults in higher education preferred.

Responsibilities

Identify educational and career options with students and establish action plans.
Monitor academic progress and document status updates using campus systems.
Teach students to self-navigate to degree completion with campus resources.
Provide information and referrals to tutoring, counseling, financial aid, and disability services.
Support transfer planning and articulation with partner colleges.
Respond to early alerts and assist with enrollment, orientation and completion initiatives.
