Job summary

St. Louis Community College is seeking an Advisor, Student Success to provide comprehensive academic, career, and transfer advising across multiple campuses.

The role emphasizes proactive retention interventions, interpretation of degree requirements, and guiding student progression from entry to completion. The advisor will work with diverse student populations, including dual enrollment students, to develop individualized academic plans, explore career pathways, and support employability

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in advising, student services, or related higher education field.
• Demonstrated experience in student case management or retention initiatives preferred.
• Master’s Degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-scope academic, career, and transfer advising to an assigned caseload of students.
• Apply Appreciative Advising framework in all student interactions to build rapport and support persistence.
• Develop and monitor individualized academic plans aligned with degree requirements and transfer pathways.
• Guide students in identifying career pathways, labor market considerations, and internship opportunities.
• Analyze degree audits, transcripts, and placement results to guide student progression.
• Maintain accurate documentation in student information and advising systems.
