Job summary

Houston Community College is seeking a Pathways and Case Management Advisor to partner with students, faculty, staff and the community to develop intentional educational and career plans.

You will inform prospective and current students of opportunities, provide high-level customer service, monitor progress, and guide transfer planning and completion initiatives to improve retention and student success. Some evenings/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
• 2 years related work experience in post-secondary institution required.
• Experience in advising both traditional-aged students and adults in a higher education setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify educational and career options with students and establish goals and action plans.
• Monitor academic progress and document status using technology.
• Teach students to self-navigate to degree completion using campus information and online resources.
• Provide information and referrals to services such as tutoring, testing, career entry, counseling, financial aid, disability services.
• Provide transfer planning to universities, articulation agreements, and common course numbering.
• Respond to proactive early alerts and support diverse programs and initiatives to improve retention and completion.

Education
